The best part about yoga

katitarf:

We don’t lie, don’t cheat, don’t compete.

We don’t yell, don’t fight, don’t gossip.

We accept.

Ourselves, our limits.

Those around us, their qualities and flaws.

The joy around us, the energy.

The journey as a destination itself.

And most of all, we live in the present.

This is from when I went to ground zero in New York City. even though i wasn’t personally effected, i will still never forget.

mariavalene:

i bet you ask ANYONE, where they were exactly ten years ago today and they could tell you.that’s because this day is so cold, so scary that it was drilled in our minds forever.so many questions, so many unanswered. so many innocent lives down the drain, so many regrets and tears. so many wishes, so much evil in this world. God bless all the victims, all the families, the friends. you are greatly missed, loved, and of course NEVER FORGOTTEN. September 11, 2001.

Ten years ago, I was seven. I remember seeing just a glimpse of those burning buildings on the television before my mother took my sisters and I to school. I had asked about it during the car drive and my mother said that bad people had attacked New York City. It was on the east coast, far from us in California, so I didn’t think much of it. The rest of that day was a blur, but I remember my teachers being sad. We went home with my little sister’s friend that day. We stepped into their living room and on the television I saw those towers once again. I looked at the mother of my little sister’s friend and asked, “It’s still on TV?” And she looked back at me and said, “Of course.” I still can’t believe it took me up until that moment to realize how devastating this attack actually was.
We will never forget 9/11.
